Naples firefighter honored by the mayor for a rescue intervention

On 23 November 2009 in a public ceremony at the Palazzo Marino in Naples Mayor Rosa Russo Jervolino awarded the provincial command of the Fire Brigade and in particular the team branch of the Old Town led by Paul Fireman coordinator John Constantine's an honor and a plaque for the memorable speech made the rescue of persons in the building of 05.11.2009 Via Santa Chiara 41 in the center of Naples.

While the flames flared on the first floor of the historic building in which Eduardo De Filippo recorded one of the most famous scenes while sipping a "mythical" cup of coffee sitting on the balcony, firefighters in the fire penetrated through the steps provided and tried to contain the damage to the building and at the same time they used to rescue the people trapped on the upper floors of that building. Freed from the flames

the stairwell of the building drew fighters rescued seven people.

The great sense of duty, the timely assistance and professionalism demonstrated by staff of the Command in Naples in that time have been approved by the Authority and gave rise to the recognition in the Mayor of Naples.
